20.00 Opening ALLIANCESFor some writers the new electronic media present less of a danger than a chance and a challenge to develop literary positions. Breaking from classical disciplines, new artistic forms from text, image and sound are emerging, alongside the development of innovative, literary and aesthetic approaches that position art and literature transmedially in the cultural and political domain. Interdisciplinary approaches have already been utilised: making links between text, image and sound is not an invention of recent decades. However, there has now developed a dynamic, in which authors and artists find forms of expression in their engagement with the media that leave behind linear text – linear in narration, linear in print, linear in its regulation between the front and back book covers – and frame new artistic forms.
